We are advisers to the UK5G programme under Digital Culture Media and Sports (DCMS) for the rural community’s area which has now merged into the Digital Services group and sit on the Steering Group of the DCMS/ DCIA Smart city street furniture working group, giving us a deeper insight into the market direction and relevant standards impacting these areas which are critical for the new 5G millimetre wave, V2X and IOT rollouts now required.

Smart Infrastructure standards
We are also members of the UK Government (DCMS Ministry) initiative to create an international standard for Smart Lampposts via their Digital Connectivity Infrastructure Accelerator (DCIA) by early 2023. We are working alongside major stakeholders and BSI to create two standards known as Publicly available standards (PAS) aimed at physical security and access and supporting multifunction use of lampposts or smart poles. These standards will allow fast deployment of 4/5G, C-V2X and IOT quickly and efficiently. These standards are being developed so that they can easily be adopted as European Norms and worldwide international standards which will fill a need that Pendragon Management have spoken about for many years.
